On Saturday, March 22, Ward Melville High School’s Key Club welcomed the new season by hosting a Senior Citizens’ Spring Fling at Jefferson’s Ferry retirement facility. Partnering with Recreation Director Lorrie Prescott, over 100 dedicated student volunteers spent the day lifting spirits and spreading joy to assisted living and skilled nursing residents.
The event featured beauty makeovers, manicures, Kahoot trivia games and bingo, providing plenty of opportunities for laughter and connection. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the WMHS Bluegrass Band, directed by Samantha Bacher, performed live music that delighted all in attendance.
Thanks to the leadership of Key Club co-advisers Cynthia Porter and Heidi Acosta, the Spring Fling was a heartwarming success that brought smiles to the faces of residents and students alike. It was a beautiful way to welcome spring 2025, with compassion, music and meaningful community service.
