In honor of National Pancake Day on Feb. 28, Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Henkowicz’s fifth grade class at Minnesauke teamed up with Mrs. Varacchi’s fifth graders at Setauket to embark on a collaborative fiction writing journey about a personified pancake.

Through engaging breakout sessions in Google Meet, students buddied up and displayed their talents and storytelling skills to craft a digital book using Book Creator. The project culminated in time for classroom staff in both rooms to whip up stacks of pancakes for students, as well as a few special guests from each building. Students enjoyed the spirit of collaboration, learning and culinary delight!
