P.S. I Love You Day in Three Village

Students and staff turned the Three Village Central School District purple on Feb. 9 to celebrate P.S. I Love You Day. The annual event encourages communities to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, loved and supported. It also seeks to end the stigma surrounding mental health. This year’s theme was “Love is Meant to be Given.”

Buildings across the district were decorated and students wore purple as a visual display of support for P.S. I Love You Day. This year, P.J. Gelinas Junior High School and Murphy Junior High School coordinated their efforts to celebrate. Art teachers Ms. Cappiello and Ms. Maritato at Gelinas worked with their students to create a backdrop inspired by the P.S. I Love You Day theme. Students were excited to take photos in front of it.

Several elementary schools held spirit weeks to kick off the festivities and students participated in kindness activities throughout the week. At W.S. Mount Elementary School, the student government wrote kind messages on a valentine to be displayed in the building. Staff greeted students on P.S. I Love You Day with more positive messages on the sidewalks outside. Students were encouraged to spread the messaging of P.S. I Love You Day throughout the entire year.
