Several students were recognized by the Three Village Central School District Board of Education at its Feb. 7 meeting. Administration and the board first recognized the Ward Melville High School Moot Court Team for being named the Suffolk County champions in the Federal Bar Association’s Mentor Moot Court competition. Throughout the competition, students successfully argued cases regarding constitutional issues.

Next, the district’s Lt. Michael Murphy Naval Sea Cadets were honored for recent accomplishments within the program. The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a leadership development program that exposes students, aged 10 through high school, to new challenges while learning teamwork skills, honor, respect and courage. Cadets train aboard U.S. Navy ships and wear Navy uniforms, introducing them to military life with no obligation to join the armed forces.
