Several Three Village students placed exceptionally well on the AMC 8 Math Contest. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. It gives students the opportunity to apply classroom skills to unique challenges.
At Gelinas Junior High School, Valentina Trajkovic and Marvin Yin, a Nassakeag Elementary School student, tied for first place. Both students scored in the top 5% nationally. Ziya Yin placed third out of students who took the exam at Gelinas.
At Murphy Junior High School, Michelle Lu took first place, Lewis Wu took second place and Brandon Xu was awarded third place.
