Computer design students in Mr. Kostis’ ninth grade class at P.J. Gelinas Junior High School have been learning about electronics. They are using their knowledge to create a circuit that uses a light dependent resistor (LDR) or photo resistor. The LDR measures the presence or absence of light and turns the circuit on and off on its own depending on if the room is light or dark.
The circuits students are building will be combined with woodworking and engraving, using the departments new laser engraver. Combining all the different machines and materials has been a great experience for students.
