Second graders at Nassakeag Elementary School learned about holiday traditions taking place across the globe from their own classrooms. During a “Holidays Around the World” event, students rotated through eight different stations, or countries, where they learned about traditions and celebrations from parents in the district.
They “visited” several countries including Australia, China, Germany, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Sweden and the United States. The second graders had paper passports stamped at each station and even carried around suitcases made from brown paper bags to hold their crafts they would complete along the way.
