FAQs for SAT and ACT Administration

**June 1, 2020 Update**

Q: Is there any new information from the College Board regarding registering for upcoming SAT test administration?

A: From the College Board:

All students can register for the November or December SAT administration at this time. To accommodate students who were impacted by recent cancellations, we're offering a week-long priority registration for August, September, and October administrations to the following groups:

1. Students who registered for June SAT or SAT Subject Tests and didn't cancel their registrations.

2. Students in the class of 2021 without a test score.

3. Students in the class of 2020 without a test score.

Registration for August, September, and October administrations will open for all students on June 3 at 8 p.m., ET.

For students who are eligible for a fee waiver: As always, eligible students will be able to take the SAT with a fee waiver. To learn more about weekend fee waivers, visit our SAT fee waiver page.

We'll also provide updates periodically via email and social media when we add new test center capacity. We may have limited capacity in certain areas due to public health restrictions, so if students can’t find a nearby test center with availability, they should be sure to check other dates.

Upcoming SAT Dates:
August 29, 2020
September 26, 2020
October 3, 2020
November 7, 2020
December 5, 2020

Q: Is it true that the June SAT is cancelled?

A: Yes. The College Board has issued the following statement: To keep students safe, and in alignment with public health guidance and school closures across 192 countries, College Board will not be able to administer the SAT or SAT Subject Tests on June 6, 2020.

Q: What about future SAT administrations?

A: According to College Board:
If it is safe from a public health standpoint, we will provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.

Students can register for these administrations starting in May. We will contact students directly when we have the exact date. Eligible students can register with a fee waiver.

For each administration, we are preparing to significantly expand our capacity for students to take the SAT once schools reopen. We are calling on our member schools and colleges, as well as local communities, to provide additional test center capacity so every student who wants to take the SAT can do so.

Students can get early access to register for August, September, and October if they’re:
-Already registered for June
-In the high school class of 2021 and don’t have SAT scores

Q: Can I get a refund for the June 6, 2020 SAT examination?

A: In May, students registered for June can transfer their registration to one of the fall SAT administrations for free. Students who want to cancel their SAT registration instead can get a refund by contacting Customer Service.

Q: When are SAT examinations being given at Ward Melville High School?

A: The College Board will be running SAT exams in August, September, October, November, December, March, May and June. Ward Melville HS will host September, November, December, March, May and June. We will not be a test site for the August or October exams. Please check the College Board website for more detailed information.

Q: Have any ACT test dates been cancelled?

A: From act.org:
The safety of students and test center staff is ACT’s top priority. ACT has rescheduled its April 4 national test date to June 13 across the U.S. in response to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). All students registered for the April 4 test date will receive an email from ACT in the next few days informing them of the postponement and
instructions for free rescheduling to June 13 or a future national test date.

Q: Is the June ACT being offered at Ward Melville High School?

A: The June ACT scheduled for June 13 at Ward Melville HS is cancelled. Please contact ACT to take the exam at another test center or to reschedule to a future national test date.

ACT is planning to administer the exam on July 18th (not at Ward Melville). After the July
administration of the exam, as of now, the first exam scheduled for the new school year
will be in September (not at Ward Melville). The ACT will be offered at Ward Melville HS
in October.
