The district’s Board of Education recently celebrated the successes of several student-artists and science research scholars.

Minnesauke Elementary School student Julia Hou was commended for being named a 2019 New York State Arbor Day Poster Contest winner. For her submission, Julia created a picture showcasing the habitats of bats. R.C. Murphy Junior High School student Carolyn Liu was commended for her painting “Across the Three Village Inn,” which had been accepted into the 2019 National Junior Art Honor Society juried exhibition.

Ward Melville High School InSTAR students Kelsey Ge, Maya Pena-Lobel, Megan Specht and Elizabeth Wang were celebrated with the assistance of two representatives from Regeneron. Earlier this winter, the four students were named Scholars in the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search.
