Dear Three Village Community,

We are pleased to announce that the Three Village Central School District will be creating a district-operated, tuition-free, half-day prekindergarten program beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. This program, which will be housed at Nassakeag Elementary School, will replace the paid option provided by SCOPE for the past two years.

Since its founding 50 years ago, our district has established a steadfast tradition of providing educational excellence and preparing students to meet the challenges and demands of an ever-evolving society. It has been clear throughout this time that the educational foundation students receive in their formative years is indicative of the success they achieve in the future. As such, we are excited to be broadening our district offerings in order to provide our community with a prekindergarten program that is directly aligned with our district’s mission, curriculum and educational philosophy.

The new program will run for two-and-a-half hours, five days a week, with a morning and afternoon option available to applicants. The program allows for the enrollment of 200 students, who will be selected based on a lottery application process. Applicants must be district residents, turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2017, and be toilet trained.

In the coming days, we will be posting additional information about the program to the district’s website. We encourage families to visit our dedicated “Pre-K Program” page for this information, including copies of the program application form. Applications for the 2017-2018 school year are due by Friday, March 31. Those selected for enrollment will be notified after the lottery drawing on Friday, April 21.

This is an exciting endeavor for our school district and we look forward to the establishment of the program in the coming year.
