Ward Melville High School art teacher Jim Swierupski has his artwork displayed at the Reboli Center in Stony Brook.
Mr. Swierupski constructed sculptures using string instruments from the district’s elementary schools that were retired after many years of use. The outsides of the instruments remain intact and depict the hours of practice and love students had for their musical abilities. The insides were sanded down, cleaned up, and then turned into something better than what they were. The sculptures celebrate the years of joy these instruments brought to Three Village students. They will be on display at the Reboli Center Until April 6.
