Students Turn Entrepreneurs in Food Truck Challenge

Eighth grade students at P.J. Gelinas Junior High School are driving competition in this year’s food truck challenge. Students in Ms. Pomponio’s family and consumer science classes designed their own food trucks. They started by researching local competitors, then came up with a name, menu and pricing. The last step was creating an appealing design for the exterior of the truck.

Each food truck was put on display in the Gelinas library. Students and staff were encouraged to stop by and vote on the truck with the best business plan, design and menu. The activity helped students get into an entrepreneurial mindset while encouraging friendly competition.
