Eighteen students from Ward Melville High School were named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are among the 34,000 of the highest scorers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) to receive letters of Commendation.

Congratulations to the following seniors: Mohemeen Ahmed, Serena Carpino, Luke Chitkara, Annabel Dimaculangan, Judy Hu, Bradley Kelton, Sofia Levorchick, Lijia Lin, Benjamin Paldy, Ella Patriss, Liam Pennino, Savanna Pineros, Sarina Policastro, Rithik Sogal, Jake Ventimiglia, Vincent Vinciguerra, Aaron Zeng and Tianyi Zhang.

While these students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, letters of Commendation recognize their academic promise. Some of those who are designated Commended Students become scholarship candidates from outside corporations.
