Several Ward Melville High School students recently traveled to Yellowstone National Park with Avalon Nature Preserve’s Yellowstone Immersion program. Ella O’Connor, Riley Millet, Indigo Dalton and Charles Werder were all invited by Avalon to participate as scholarship recipients.

During their week, students studied wildlife biology, geology, natural history and Native American history. Additionally, they hiked and observed the flora and fauna of Yellowstone extensively. The scholarship recipients were accompanied by Avalon program coordinator and P.J. Gelinas Junior High School teacher Doug Elliot.
