Ward Melville High School kicked off homecoming weekend on Sept. 22 with a pep rally. The entire student body gathered on the football field at the end of the school day to celebrate the fall season athletics teams. The celebration began with a performance from the marching band followed by a routine from the varsity cheerleaders. Each varsity team was then introduced to the crowd and ran onto the field. The football team was the last team to run through the tunnel, encouraging students to attend their homecoming game on Sept. 23.

Due to weather, the annual homecoming carnival was canceled. However, the game went on and the Ward Melville Patriots came out victorious against the Central Islip Musketeers with a final score of 34-0.
