Three Village Central School District students thumbnail246464

Three Village Central School District students swept the Long Island Authors’ Group second annual Essay Challenge, earning first, second and third place. The contest is open to all public school students in Nassau and Suffolk counties and this year, 20 school districts had students compete.

The essay contest motivates students to express and share their feelings, thoughts and concerns through writing. Students could choose from two prompts – utilizing the five senses, describe the impact a visit to a Long Island site had on you, or describe a crucial issue or obstacle facing Long Island youth, and ways in which the youth can mobilize to address it.

Congratulations to the following Three Village students:

Tyler Matukonis, grade 10, first place – “Long Island Youth Will Save The Environment.”

August Hatcher-Robertson, grade 12, second place – “Long Island Aquarium”

Alenna Lin, grade 11, third place – “Avalon Park-July 10”
