WMHS Student Receives Top Reflections Award

UPDATE:

Ward Melville High School student Sarina Policastro won the top award in the National PTA Reflections program for film – the Outstanding Interpretation Award. Policastro’s animation, “Amira’s Letter’s” previously won the Award of Excellence, which was the highest honor in her category in the New York State competition. Policastro is one of only seven Outstanding Interpretation awardees, chosen from the 900 student entries from state PTAs.


Ward Melville High School student Sarina Policastro won the top award in the state in the New York State PTA Reflections Program. The program encouraged students to show their artistic interpretation of this year’s theme, “Show Your Voice” in six art categories. Sarina received the Award of Excellence in the senior division of the film production category for her animation, “Amira’s Letters.”

Sarina was one of only 30 students in New York to receive the Award of Excellence. She moves on to the national level of judging with winners being announced in May.
