R.C. Murphy Junior High School was in the “March Madness” spirit last month!

Aligned with the nationwide basketball tournament, students played in their own competition. Teams of three took to court for elimination-style games during physical education classes. The winners went on to play Murphy staff in a culminating game.

Students also participated in March Madness-themed events in the classroom. Mrs. Farley and Mrs. Perez’s classes took part in “Locura de Marzo,” a contest focused on Hispanic music, culture and language. The contest bracket started with 16 different songs chosen by language teachers from around the country. As students entered class, they were greeted with music playing and were tasked with voting for their favorite song. Through this activity, students were actively engaged in culture and language.
