District security personnel recently worked with students and their health teachers during a “Stop the Bleed” program. Students at Ward Melville High School learned life-saving skills during the two-day training.

The program kicked off with a lecture portion where students learned the importance of acting quickly during an emergency. Following the lecture, they participated in a hands-on segment where they practiced applying tourniquets and packing and dressing wounds. The program is a proactive approach to student safety.
