Fourth grade students at Arrowhead Elementary School sampled new books during a “tasting” experience. Classrooms transformed into restaurants with red, checkered tablecloths, café music, centerpieces, menus and platters of books. Students dressed in fancy attire to sample nonfiction books on various topics.

During the book tasting, the fourth graders rated the books they selected and compiled a “must read” list. The activity introduced the nonfiction reading unit to students and helped foster a love for reading.
