A number of students and staff members were recognized for recent accomplishments and contributions by the Three Village Central School District Board of Education at its Oct. 26 meeting.

Five Ward Melville High School students were recently selected by the New York State School Music Association to perform in the 2022 All-State Music Conference. An additional 13 students were chosen as alternates. These students were acknowledged by district leaders and the board for being named the top musicians from across New York.

The board went on to recognize Executive Director of Technology, Deidre Rubenstrunk, for being named the 2022 Fred Podolski Leadership and Innovation in Technology Visionary Award winner. Ms. Rubenstrunk received this award for demonstrating vision, leadership and support of technology initiatives.

In honor of October being National Principals Month, principals at each of the district’s buildings were recognized for their leadership and dedication to their students’ success.

Lastly, the district and board expressed their gratitude to staff members, Dan Walsh, Kevin Thornton and Chris Murphy, for helping save individuals who were choking. These staff members recently performed the Heimlich maneuver in separate instances.
