An Eggs-ellent Fundraiser

main(129).jpg thumbnail183016
Earlier this spring, students from across the district came together to support a fundraiser spearheaded by P.J. Gelinas Junior High School eighth grade student Jay Harris. The “Egg My House” fundraiser was designed to support the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

The Gelinas National Junior Honor Society candidates and current members, with the support of adviser Nicolette Demartino, helped by donating thousands of plastic eggs stuffed with candy to hide for children whose families had supported the fundraiser. Girl Scout troops from W.S. Mount Elementary and R.C. Murphy Junior High School stuffed eggs with candy as well. Students from Gelinas, Murphy, Mount and Ward Melville and Three Village alumni were part of the Three Village Brigade that had the pleasure of hiding the eggs for the little ones.

The fundraiser raised $4,026. Eggs were hidden for 149 families and over 7,800 eggs were filled, stuffed and hidden.
