Earlier this evening, the district learned of the sudden passing of a seventh-grade student from P.J. Gelinas Junior High School.

We are extremely saddened by this heartbreaking news. A young person’s death is always tragic and a sudden loss like this can have a profound effect on the entire school community.

The Three Village Central School District values each of our students as members of our school family and recognizes them for the special gifts that they possess. We extend our prayers and deepest condolences to the student’s family and friends during this difficult time.

All schools will open as planned tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5. The district has implemented its crisis intervention plan and grief counselors will be available to students and staff, as needed, beginning tomorrow morning.

The district is communicating with parents in the building to encourage them to speak with their children, when appropriate, about this news. Any parent who has questions or concerns, can contact the main office at their child’s school for assistance.
