During a visit with two therapy dogs, Patricia Woods’ sixth grade class at Minnesauke Elementary School learned about the important work the animals do for humans of all ages.

The class learned that in addition to their calm and welcoming disposition, the dogs are hard workers, helping their human companions accomplish various tasks.

After learning about the role such animals play in individuals’ everyday lives, the students were inspired to undertake a community service project in honor of their furry friends. Working together, they mixed, sifted and stirred batter to make dog biscuits to donate to a local animal shelter.
