Ward Melville High School student-musicians Greyson Nekrutman and Alexandra Woroniecka have been named among the top-performing high school musicians in the United States and were invited to perform during this year’s NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles. The event will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, from Nov. 7-10.

“To be selected to represent the Three Village Central School District at this level is a true honor and an amazing testament to the students’ hard work, dedication and talents, as well as their family and teachers’ guidance and support,” said Anthony Pollera, district director of music. “We could not be prouder of all they have accomplished.”

During the national convention, the students will perform under the leadership of the most prominent conductors in the field of music education. Greyson will perform on the drums as part of the All-National Jazz Ensemble and Alexandra will perform on violin with the All-National Symphony Orchestra.

The All-National Honor Ensembles performers represent collaboration and creativity in its highest musical form, and students are chosen through a rigorous audition process. The symphony orchestra will be comprised of the nation’s top 121 instrumentalists and the jazz ensemble will be made up of the top 20 instrumentalists.
