Setauket Elementary School kindergarten students had the chance to act as emergency room doctors during a recent interactive workshop with representatives from Stony Brook University.

During the Teddy Bear Clinic program, before suiting up as professional doctors the students were reminded of important safety tips when riding a car or a bicycle. Wearing protective gloves, hairnets and facemasks, the students took care of their most precious stuffed animals by adhering bandages, braces and splints.

The program served not only as a reminder of a variety of safety tips but also to help ease students’ apprehensions about going to the doctor.
