258 district students were praised and commended for their philanthropic actions and presented with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award this June.

This national award is issued for service hours accumulated during a 12-month period. According to the official criteria, the awards are offered in multiple levels and are designed to recognize each milestone of service. Levels include bronze, silver, gold and the highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, for those who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime. Three Village students accumulated 28,000 of service collectively this year!
