Ward Melville High School senior and member of the school’s InSTAR science research program Kathleen Esfahany has been nominated by the Long Island Science Congress to attend the New York State Science Congress at the University of Buffalo in June.

Kathleen was selected for this honor based on her research work on the “Organization of Neural Population Code in Mouse Visual System.” Kathleen has dedicated much of her research to this field and was recently featured in a video created by the Allen Institute, a global leader in neuroscience research.

She will be heading to Massachusetts Institute of Technology this fall, where she plans to continue to study the field of science.
