Ward Melville High School juniors and seniors had the chance to showcase their newly acquired volleyball skills during the building’s annual volleyball tournament this winter.

The event, which came as a conclusion to the students’ five-week volleyball unit in physical education classes, focused on improving students’ skill and fitness levels, and build school spirit, comradery, teamwork, leadership and cooperation.

The event was refereed by teachers Jeffrey Heck and Enrico Chacon, while Ronald Muscarella served as the MC for the game. Students from the stands participated in the spike-and-serve competition.

As a special touch, two Ward Melville graduates, Anthony Kay and Ben Brown, handed out signed baseballs during the event.
