P.J. Gelinas Junior High School students had the opportunity to learn about the interworking of the state capitol when Temporary President and Majority Leader of the New York State Senate John J. Flanagan conducted an informative town hall assembly.

During the event, the senator spoke about the difference in state and federal government, how he came to serve and the different types of laws that affect today’s youth, including bike helmet laws. Additionally, students were able to ask questions on current and past issues facing the nation, including education, internet safety and health care.
