Arrowhead Elementary School students and staff regularly engage in meaningful learning opportunities surrounding their character education mindset of “cultivating kindness.”
Last spring, Arrowhead staff dedicated and planted a cherry tree in memory of a beloved teaching assistant, Florence Cianfarano, who lost her battle to breast cancer. Florence worked with special education students at Arrowhead for over 10 years and is fondly remembered for her strength, warmth and compassion.
To help ensure the tree grows fully, Arrowhead Garden Club, which is run by Angela Campo, has maintained the tree and has created a beautiful memorial garden with tulips, inspirational messages painted on stones and a white picket enclosure.
The space was dedicated in Florence’s memory and serves as a daily reminder for all to “cultivate kindness.”
