Advanced Placement German students at Ward Melville High School took home top honors in this year’s annual German competition, Sprachfest, and placed first in each competition they entered.

The annual Long Island German Language Festival is hosted for middle and high schoolers and is sponsored by the Long Island chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German. It highlights the study of German in a fun way and creates excitement around, with and through German language and culture.

During the program, the students competed against peers from across Long Island in a series of competitive and noncompetitive events.
