Minnesauke Elementary School students had the chance to perfect a number of skills generally reserved for the circus arena when representatives from the National Circus Project visited their school.

During a weeklong workshop in their physical education classes, kindergarten through sixth-graders trained alongside the professionals to learn how to walk on stilts, spin plates, juggle and use diablos (Chinese yo-yos).

As a conclusion to the project, sixth-graders conducted an evening circus performance for their family and friends. The students took to the center ring and performed several of the tricks that they had learned, enthralling their audience and impressing them with the new skills.
