Nassakeag Elementary School kindergarten students in Rebecca D’Agostino’s class learned about the postal service in a hands-on way when they created an operational post office in their classroom.

After discussing the importance of this national profession and how mail travels, students learned about the different responsibilities of the office workers. Then, during the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, the students had the chance to fulfill the various roles, including stamp sellers, letter carriers, sorters and office workers.

Throughout the school day, the kindergartners assumed these roles and carried out numerous jobs to ensure their classmates’ Valentine’s cards were delivered on time.
