Original written and creative works produced last school year by Brianna Rovegno’s fourth-grade class at Arrowhead Elementary School are set to hit newsstands this October, as they will be featured in the Sunday, Oct. 25 Kidsday section of Newsday.
For the feature, the students worked as journalists under the guidance of a Newsday editor to create jokes, puzzles, surveys and articles on a wide array of topics. They also had the chance to conduct an interview with Auggie Maturo, one of the stars on the show “Girls Meets World.” The venture enabled the class to strengthen both their writing skills and research abilities.
